How to fix " bootmgr is compressed" error in window7/8

Sometimes people compresses the c drive or boot drive of the computer to get more space on that drive. The system files are also compressed due to this action and when next time you starts your computer it shows error like :
"bootmgr is compressed.
Please press alt+ctrl+del to restart"
This error due to the compression of boot files of system. Then there is only solution for this is to decompress this drive.

Here we helps you to resolve this error step by step:

1. Insert a live dvd or a bootable dvd of your window 7.

2. On startup,press F2 or F12 to boot from dvd.

3. Now select language etc and press next.

4. Here you need to select the 'Repair Your Computer' option. Then choose load drivers option.

5. Here you can able to see a small GUI. Choose my computer and right click on C drive or your compressed boot drive.

6. Select properties and deselect compression option which you have checked previously checked to compress the disk and press ok.

7. This wants the administrator permissions to prompt,click on continue.
This may take time to decompress the drive as per the size of the drive.

8. When all done,just restarts    your computer. This time your computer stars normally without bootmgr error.

Sometimes the computer cannot starts properly.
In that case follow these simple steps:

Step 1 : Insert the Windows 8 Installation Disc in your system’s optical drive, or use a bootable USB for that matter, and make sure you boot your PC using this removable
media.

Step 2 : On the Install now screen, select Repair your computer.

Step 3 : On the next screen, choose
Troubleshoot , followed by Advanced
options .

Step 4 : From Advanced options, launch a command prompt windows, and enter the following command:.

Bootrec.exe /fixmbr

Step 5 : Once the command is finished, reboot your computer the normal way, and Windows 8 should load just fine now. There are quite a few renditions of the Bootrec command that you may use to fix
more than one type of issue with the Master Boot Record (MBR).

You can also check other command as per your knowledge / requirement  such as:
/fixboot . Writes a boot sector onto the system partition to start Windows
/scanOs . Scans all disks for Windows installations and displays them to you.
. /rebuildBcd. Scans all disks for Windows installations and prompts you to pick the ones you want to add to the BCD Information.

You are advised to use the /rebuildBcd attribute with bootrec command like bootrec /rebuildBcd. This definitely fix it.
